REGISTRATION, ASSESSMENT, SKILL NEEDS ANALYSIS, ENROLLMENT

To start the Edutrac experience all users will enter the system by way of the “GETTING STARTED” command button.
The “GETTING STARTED” process involves four steps:

1. Registration of a Learner

Full name, Username and Password allocation for
system access.

2. Assessment

To establish the actual Grade Level related to
the competence and confidence of the learner in
Mathematics and English

3. Learner Management Details Learner and School details plus Grade Level Analysis
4. Course Enrollment Based on Assessment and Grade Level Analysis learners are automatically enrolled at an assessed f level. Manual enrollment can also be activated at this point.

The user is now ready to enter the system directly by way of the “LOGIN” command button on the first screen entering the USERNAME AND PASSWORD.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After registration, the learner will do the Grade test on one level below their current grade.

On Grade Test completion, under 75% will take the learner to the grade test TWO levels below their current grade. This process will continue until the learner would pass the grade test. Above 75%, click on next and it will take the learner to Getting Started. Click on LEARNER MANAGEMENT to do full REGISTRATION and SKILL NEED ANALYSIS where the learner will be enrolled for courses on a grade level directed by the grade test results.

The learner can also select additional courses and modules on higher grade levels on recommendation by the teacher. This can be done by clicking on COURSE ENROLMENT which is the 4th step on the GETTING
STARTED
screen.

WORKING IN THE SYSTEM

The Grade Level Tests establishes the actual level of the learner (which usually is way below the expected level of the Grade they are in). The learners starting at their established level of confidence and competence work through the dynamic material, guided by a Facilitator / Teacher, in bite-sized building blocks, until they are able to achieve skill competence at the Grade level they are actually in.

The process proceeds as follows:

After the completion of the total registration process, the learner will be given an outline with his/her selected courses highlighted. The learner clicks on a course of his/her choice – this will normally be determined by the teacher.

Example: The grade 6 learner selects his/her preferred course and clicks on DIVISION(course). The learner has been automatically enrolled for grade 5 level mathematics modules. In addition the teacher has advised the learner to enroll for selected grade 6/7 modules

ONLY AREAS IN RED ARE ACTIVE
BY TEST RESULTS (ABOVE 75%) THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM

Click on the pre-test of the module
Module 31143: Division and rounding Grade 5 level

On pre-test completion, over 75% will take the learner to the next module or the next course by clicking on the' Next' button.

Click on the pre-test of the module
Module 31143: Division and rounding Grade 5 level
Module 31144: Division and mixed operations Grade 6/7 level

Under 75% will take the learner to the first lesson of the module in hand:

Click on the Lesson Book:
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

After completing the lesson book, close the lesson and click on Dynamic Application

You can now do the dynamic application. Click on button.
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

To proceed further you now have to do the Lesson Test. Click on button:
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

On test completion more than 75% directs the learner to this screen:

Click on the lesson book:
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)
Lesson 2: …………………………………………. (311432)

The learner who got less than 75% is taken back to lesson 1 to repeat:

Click on the lesson book and the dynamic application:
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

After working on the lesson book and the dynamic application the test will be redone.

Click on the test and redo:
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

If the learner gets less than 75% AGAIN, the lesson books and the test must be redone again plus teacher assistance must be requested.

Once the learner has gone through all the lessons, the following screen appears:

Click on the post test.
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level

If the learner achieves more than 75% he/she will continue with the pre-test of the next module. If only one module in the course was selected, a new course will now be selected and the pre-test of the first module will be completed.
Click on the pre test of the next module
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level
Module 31144: Division and mixed operations grade 6/7 level

And the process continue...
If the learner achieves less than 75%:

Study the results of your module post-test to determine which lessons need to be redone. Click on the lesson books of those lessons.
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level

Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

Lesson 2: ……………………………………….. (311432)

After the learner has redone the Lesson Books, Dynamic Applications and tests on sections where competence was lacked, he can then click on the module post test again.

Click on the post test of the module
Module 31143: Division and rounding grade 5 level

Lesson 1: ……………………………………….. (311431)

BLENDED E-LEARNING METHODOLOGY IN SCHOOL SITUATIONS:

EDUTRAC works through a blended e-learning methodology in School Situations. The learner uses the technology-driven system to access tests, learning materials and dynamic applications. The teacher / facilitator assists with the learning process and the transference of skills learned, into classroom operations.

In the School Situation the point of entry and exit in the System is through Grade Level Modules
