WORKING IN THE SYSTEM
A learner will enter
the system after registration by way of a pin
and will undergo assessment to establish their
level of competence. The point of entry into
the learning system is determined by this level
of competence.
Learning material will be selected on need for
access by the learner. All progress is tracked
and recorded in the system. Individual job expectations,
skill needs and performance management capabilities
in the EDUTRAC SYSTEM provide the link between
the learning and workplace activities required
by a company. If assessed for Educational purposes,
learning will also be directed at Maths, English
or Science upgrade.
Each lesson, module and course in a tier addresses
a competency / outcome. For each of the lessons,
there is a programmed interactive lesson book.
The lesson material includes a sequence of short
instructional frames each followed by a practice
application exercise, ending in a multiple choice
test that is automatically marked and recorded..
The lesson is followed by activities for individual
reinforcement of what has been learned.
For each module and course there are parallel
multiple choice tests, automatically marked
and recorded.. These are taken on-line. Used
as pre-tests they can quickly identify prior
skills to start the learner at the correct level.
Used as post-tests they demonstrate understanding
and indicate precisely where further work may
be needed.
After finishing all assigned lessons in a module
and achieving 75% or more in the module test,
the learner may move on to the next module’s
lesson sequence.
The learner continues step by step until all
modules have been completed.
To track progress, each step is recorded in
the system. This guides the learner to the next
step, and directs a learner’s facilitator
should the learner need assistance.

In Occupationally-Directed
learning the point of entry and exit is at Course
Level.

BLENDED E-LEARNING METHODOLOGY
IN WORKPLACE SITUATIONS:
EDUTRAC works through
a blended e-learning methodology in workplace
situations. The learner uses the technology-driven
EDUTRAC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM to access tests, learning
material and dynamic applications. A facilitator
assists with the process of knowledge application
and transference of skills learned to practical
workplace experience.
