A learner will enter
the system after registration by way of a pin
and will undergo assessment to establish their
level of competence. The point of entry into
the learning system is determined by this level
of competence.
Learning material will be selected on need for
access by the learner. All progress is tracked
and recorded in the system.
In workplace situations job expectations, skill
needs and performance management capabilities
in the system provide the link between the learning
and workplace activity required by a company.
In Educational / School situations learning
will be specifically directed at Maths, English
or Science upgrade.
Each lesson, module and course in a tier addresses
a competency / outcome. For each of the lessons,
there is a programmed lesson book. The lesson
material includes a sequence of short instructional
frames each followed by a practice application
exercise, ending in a self-scored test. The
lesson is followed by activities for individual
reinforcement of what has been learned.
For each module and course there are parallel
tests. These are taken on-line. Used as pre-tests,
they can quickly identify prior skills to start
the learner at the correct level. Used as post-tests,
they demonstrate understanding and indicate
precisely where further work may be needed.
On-line tests are corrected immediately in the
system and results are viewed.
After completing all assigned lessons in a module
and achieving required competence in the module
test (75% or above), the learner will continue
step by step until all modules have been completed.
To track progress, each step is recorded in
the system. This guides the self-directed learner
to the next step, and directs a learner mentor
should the learner need assistance. |

In Workplace Situations System Access
is through Courses. In School Situations System
Access is through Modules. |
