PRACTICE / ACTIVITY BOOKS
• Over 2000 Lessons are available on-line (PDF or HTML).
• On-line ‘Books’ present then apply skills, ending in multiple-choice tests recorded in the system.
• Interactive Activity Exercises provide extra practice and activities to reinforce skill learning.
• To reinforce learning questions are posed requiring answers in both Practice and Activity Exercises. The answers are concealed by a blue square that can be accessed by a click.

TESTS
• Comprehensive Tests are available at initial assessment to determine functional operacy levels (Mathematical Literacy, Numeracy and English communication).

Pre-Tests and Post-Tests are available in the system at Course and Module Levels.

Tests provide diagnostic and prescriptive testing for each module and course. Pre-tests determine the level of entry of the learner and post-tests determine the competency level.

•

Post tests indicate how successful the learner has been in the process of learning.

•

Above 75% in a post module test allows a learner to proceed to the following module.
• Above 75% in a lesson test allows a learner to proceed to the next lesson.
• All tests are multiple-choice and automatically marked. A result report can be printed on completion of the test.
• At Course level a Certificate of Competency is automatically generated if the learner achieves greater than or equal to 75% in the Course Post test.
• Where relevant in the system, Programme Certificates can be manually generated if a group of courses meets a specific NQF requirement.
• All test results are recorded in the report files in Learner Management

INTERACTIVE COMPUTER AIDED INSTRUCTION AND DYNAMIC APPLICATIONS
• The Edutrac Software includes Interactive CDs and Dynamic Applications. These have been carefully selected and linked to module learning material to provide a balanced portfolio of education and training. Additional CDs can be pre-installed on an on-site server and linked from each workstation if requested.

Dynamic Applications provided by Learnthings are automatically part of the system that can be accessed from the server.
•

The Ace Learning System directly linked to the EDL Group offering is highly interactive accessed on-line only.

LEARNER PORTFOLIOS FOR OCCUPATIONAL COURSES
• Learner Portfolios for assessment purposes are available and essential for ETDP / UMALUSI / ETQA certification.
•

Portfolios are designed to enable facilitators to teach towards unit standards and to allow for assessment against these unit standards.
•

Learner Portfolios need to be printed in hard copy format as each learner has to work from their own portfolio and add their own work to the portfolio for assessment as per SETA requirements.
